Tony Rizzo

(Lead Guitar, Vocals)

Founding member & soulRcoaster band leader, Dr. Tony Rizzo, is a Long Island New York transplant who resides on Anna Maria Island.  Tony began playing guitar in earnest in the 7th grade.  He took a group guitar elective in a music class and a hotshot classmate dazzled him by playing the opening to Led Zeppelin’s “Over the Hills and Far Away”, prompting him to wonder if he could do that.  Well, turns out he could and he’s been dazzling audiences in various bands ever since.

Tony’s mad guitar skills enable him to play just about any genre of music.  His music theory background & diverse repertoire oftentimes has him lending his talents to the various local theater orchestra pits as well as the “fearless leader” of soulRcoaser.

 Joe Hornberger

 (Drums, Vocals)

Dr. Joe Hornberger, originally from Springfield, Ohio, has been playing drums since age 5. He was influenced by his father who played alto Saxophone, grandfather who played English horn and oboe for the NY Philharmonic Orchestra & Metropolitan Opera, and his brothers who played guitar, violin and keyboards.  Coming from a heritage of musicians, his great-grandfather played harp, earning a living with his family quartet.  While in grade school, Joe took up the violin for a few years but the drums won out.  At 19, Joe took a leave from college to embark on a yearlong cross country tour with the band “Suede”, managed by the prestigious Artists Corp of America.

His love of music is obvious and has continued to play in bands throughout his life in many different genres, making him the skilled season musician he is!  With the enthusiastic support of his family, Joe is able to juggle his career as a Chiropractic Physician in Sarasota as well as his musical career.  Joe is thrilled to be part of the soulRcoaster family!
